APC Suspends Founding Member, Aregbesola Over Alleged Anti Party Activities
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday suspend former governor of the state and immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola over anti-party activities.
This was disclosed in a letter signed by the state party chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, a copy sighted by Blaze Newz.
Blaze Newz gathered that since the rerun of governorship election in 2018 that brought in his successor, Adegboye Oyetola, some members of Osun APC had insisted that Aregbesola did not truly support emergence of Oyetola.
Also, in 2022 Aregbesola was accused with the Omoluabi Progressives of working for the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in an election that made his party APC to loose.

It would be recalled that after the governorship election that brought in Governor Ademola Adeleke as governor prominent members of Omoluabi Progressives such as former Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr.Najeem Salam, for Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adelani Baderinwa among others were suspended from APC.
However, there were calls from aggressived members of Osun APC after alleged Facebook post of Aregbesola were he allegedly celebrated the victory of Governor Adeleke that the immediate past Minister for Interior should be kicked out of the party.
Yeilding to this agitation the Osun APC in a letter dated October 24, 2024 with and signed by the Secretary of State Disciplinary Committee, Comrade Waheed Adediran with reference number APC/OS/RA/01 to Aregbesola, Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal and Secretary, Alao Kamoru, the party suspended him on six grounds of anti-party and others.
The letter reads in party “Following Committee, the State Executive Committee (SEC), llesa East Local Government Executive reviewing the allegations and by the powers vested in it by Article 21(3) (vi) (c) of the party’s Constitution, hereby suspends Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola from the party pending the outcome of an investigation into the allegations by a Disciplinary Committee.

“The State Executive Committee has constituted a Disciplinary Committee to investigate and provide Ogbeni Aregbesola with the opportunity to respond to the allegations of activities deemed to violate Article 21 (2) of the party’s Constitution, particularly relating to anti-party activities that undermine the collective interests of the APC levelled against him as follows:
“Factionalisation of the party with the creation of splinter groups i.e. the Omoluabi Caucus-a trending video of their recent activities in Iwo is here with attached; Creation of parallel organs within the party;
“Working with opposition parties to undermine the APC in the State -admission made at the Ataoja’s Palace 4th of January 2024, Osogbo; Public outbursts against the leaders of the party, including President, H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), Chief Bisi Akande and H.E. Gboyega Oyetola, among others;
“Refusal to show up or support any party activities in the State; and Refusal to vote for the party since after the 2019 general elections.”

Aregbesola, who became governor of the Osun state in 2010 through Action Congress, AC, was also among the founding fathers of APC Blaze Newz gathered.
