Transfer news : Barcelona Sign Ghanian Footballer ,Kevin-Prince Boateng On Loan

Spanish giant, Barcelona have completed the signing of Ghana International Kevin-Prince Boateng announcing him on a loan to the club until the end of this season.

Boateng, who currently plays for US Sassuolo,a team sitting 12th in Serie A will spend the rest of 2018/19 season at the Nou Camp with Barcerlona having the option to sign him permanently for $A12.7million at the end of the season.

The player will be formally presented on Tuesday at 1pm local time, with the club’s website describing him as “a player who will surely adapt quickly to the team”, “a man who has scored goals wherever he has been” and “versatile to a fault”.

The statement Barcelona website said: “Kevin-Prince Boateng is a player who will surely adapt quickly to the team. With experience of playing in four of the biggest leagues in Europe, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga, he is a man who has scored goals wherever he has been.

“Furthermore, Boateng is a player who versatile to a fault. During his time with Las Palmas with Quique Setién as coach he played as an out and out striker, a typical number ‘9’. However, he is also able to play further back as he did at AC Milan, scoring twice against Barça in his time with the Rossoneri.

“His ability to bring people into the game means he is excellent at playing behind the main striker.”

The former AC Milan player announced the move himself before official confirmation was made public and rubbished his previous comments from 2017 where he said he preferred Real Madrid to Barcelona.

“Barca, I’m coming!” he said. “I’m sad to leave Sassuolo but this is a great chance.

“Don’t ask me about Real Madrid… is just the past! I only want to focus on Barcelona and I hope to score at Bernabéu for the next Clasico.”

Barcelona will become the 12th team the Ghana international has played for having previously had spells at Tottenham, Portsmouth and AC Milan, amongst others.
