Stop Seducing Our Officials With Money, Osun REC Warns Politicians



Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , Mr.Olusegun Agbaje on Wednesdy warned politicians to stop seducing its officials with money during election and allow the commision to do its job saying ” we are well paid”.

The Osun REC made this known during a coutsey visit of Online Media Practioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) Osun Chapter held at the commision headquaters at the state capital, Osogbo.

Mr.Agbaje also frowned to the habit of vote marchant during elecion, he decribed the selling of vote as something electorates must stop in order to have credible political officer holder who is passionate about the interest of the peoples after election.

Speaking about the state INEC readiness toward the fortcoming 2019 general and state election, Mr.Agbaje said the commission is on to gear ensuring everything needed for the successfulness of free and faire election is put in place.

“We have met with religious leaders, community leaders and social groups for proper sensitization and education voting which through these stakeholders will cut accross Osun State ” he said.

“The commision has also started the distribution of uncollected PVC from Wednesday 16 to Monday 21st January by taking it to the ward level which will make it easy for owners to get accesse to”.

Reacting to the claim that INEC has started selling uncollected PVC to APC candidates, Mr.Agbaji desicribed the claim as misleading and untruthful information saying the commision has no right to give out another persons PVC to anyone.

He urged the OMPAN to assist in informing the puiblic with geniue information and appealed to desist from fake news saying spreaking of unverified information by the practioners is capable of throwing the state into choas during and after election.

Mr. Omosoji, the cordinator of the OMPAN in Osun pledged that his colleague will continue to discharge their duty professionally during and after election adding that there are penalties for members of the association who violate the standard orders of OMPAN.
