Osun State governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under the body of The Forum of Osun 2022 Gubernatorial Aspirants have called for the reconstitution of Gubernatorial Screening Committee set up for the party’s primary in Osun

The forum in a letter addressed to the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu on Thursday expressed distrust lack of fair and confidence on the Screening Committee.

The letter reads “We the undersigned gubernatorial aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State Chapter humbly wish to request for the re-constitution of the Osun Gubernatorial Screening Committee.

“That our attention was recently drawn to a Screening Committee allegedly constituted by the erstwhile National Working Committee towards the tail end of their administration as the Osun gubernatorial Screening Committee whose composition was skewed in favour of a particular aspirant in the forthcoming gubernatorial primaries of the party.

“We wish to emphasize and place on record that Ekiti and Osun Staten elections are very germane to the party being the last two elections before the General Elections in the 2023 and the Nation is watching the new inaugurated National Working Committee to set the pace that will usher in a transparent democratic process that will guarantee the expected hope of Nigerians

“We wish to state that the decision of the erstwhile National Working Committee (NWC) to constitute a screening committee at the tail end of their tenure was done in bad faith.

“That we do not have confidence in the composition of the said Screening Committee and we humbly request that the said Osun Screening Committee be re-constituted in the interest of fairness, equity, credibility and level playing ground with men of honour who will be seen to be unbiased.”

Blaze Newz recalls that the Osun governorship primary will hold on Saturday, February 26.
