Open Letter: Our Source Is Suffering, Ejigbo Students Write Oyetola

It’s uncalled for that, my source, Ejigbo local government could be facing this kind of problem upon what she has been doing to the party of the day. I could remember what this local government has been doing for the party in power even when she was an opposition party then. It’s bad, that upon being the heart of such party in Osun state, still struggling to meet her colleagues in terms of development and every aspect of administration.

Mr. Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, we are using this medium to plead with you that you should consider our local government in your own tenure most especially the road that link Ejigbo, Egbedore, Ede and Osogbo together. The road has become unbearable for them which is causing problem in terms of economy, and health and every aspect of governance.

Historically, we know how important this town is but it’s a big shame to me that she’s still lagging behind. Several letters have been sent, dialogue has been taken place, still remain fruitless.

Mr. Governor, this road has seriously affected us economically, people who travel far and near to buy and sell finding it difficult. Goods that ought to be taken to the town and coming out are small because of the bad road. So, directly or indirectly leading to much suffering for our people, finding it difficult to make ends meet. The main road that needs to be agog with trade isn’t but would be as if there’s no one in the town.

Mr. Governor, we enjoin you to take gracious look at us because if no good action is being taken place, it will surely affect the security of the town thereby people would be engaging in barbaric acts which would tarnish the image of our honoured town.

Health wisely, with the pain people are passing through, through the course of the journey, is seriously causing health problems for them. Some are allergic to petrol that they can’t actually stay in a vehicle for hours due to the smelling of oil in the vehicle. I know this road isn’t new to you because you’ve come for inauguration of primary health care center in Ejigbo which I believe, you have experienced the pain as well.

The transport fare increased without making necessary consultation, yet drivers complained that due to bad road, they ought to increase the fare and upon such, the money is being spent on repairing vehicle rather spending on what’s necessary. Private vehicles now traveling through commercial vehicle because they don’t want to spend on repairing their vehicle all the time.

Mr. Governor, for crying out loud, please we’re really suffering, consider us now not until election is coming that you’ll be running helter skelter to get our favour in giving out our votes for your party. We don’t deserve this from you because we know the number of votes we gave to you for your emergence as governor in the previous election and your party in particular. Put yourself in our shoes, feel the pain we’re passing through every night and day. It’s a big heart breaks for us that we’re struggling to meet those who are under us. We’re expecting big rewards through constructing this road to facilitate economy and every aspect of our lives.

We hope that it won’t late before you address this issue for us not until we recall death that you ought to do the needful Mr. Governor.
