Islam, Christianity Don’t Support Violence – Bishop Olubadejo Condems Killing Of Deborah

As reactions continue to trail the murder of a 200 level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Yakubu killer by some students for alleged blasphemy to Prophet Muhammed, the General Overseer of the Holy Ghost Power Assembly Worldwide, Bishop Sola Olubadejo has condemned the act in totality.

Bishop Olubadejo in his condemnation described the act as evil, cruel, inhuman and barbaric in a press statement personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo the Osun State capital on Friday, called on the Sokoto state government, security agencies and authorities of the higher institution to work harmoniously in bringing the perpetrators of the bad act to book.

While commiserating with the family of the deceased, urged students of higher institutions across the globe to shun violence and social vices, adding that the culprits of the evil act must face the wrath of the law.

“I condemn in strong terms the unwarranted killing of Deborah Yakubu, a 200 level Home Economics student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.

“The ugly incident is shocking and devastating while the culprits must be exposed and brought to book as a matter of urgency.

“Students should not engage in illegitimate acts and as such, the ugly incident must be thoroughly investigated by the authority of the institution in collaboration with the security agents in order to bring the perpetrators to book.

“I also want to admonish parents and guardians to instil good moral values in their children and wards so as to build a good society” Bishop Olubadejo said.

While stressing that Islam and Christianity don’t support violence, called on entire Nigerians to embrace peace and unity.

Blaze Newz reported that Deborah was allegedly set ablaze by the culprits, on Thursday morning.
