DOAS Defends Broom Erection In Front Of FCT Gate
The Federal Capital Tertiary Department of Outdoors Advertisement Services (DOAS) has defended the construction of a broom which is the symbol of the All Progressives Congress (APC) near the city gate of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja says it followed due process,
DOAS is the department in the FCT Abuja authorised to register, billboards, control, as well as collect revenues for advertising and signage within Abuja.
Coordinator of Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Umar Shuaibu, whose office supervises DOAS, the APC, FCT chapter, got approval for the broom to be mounted.
Shuaibu said, “We approved it because it is not defacing the city. So, just as we have given other political parties approval to erect their trademarks so long as they agree with our standard, why can’t we also approve this? If you look around the Airport Road, you will see a lot of other posters of several political parties, so this is not different from them.”
