Another Polytechnic In Osun Sacks All Ad-hoc Staff

Bearing 48 hours after Osun State Polytechnic Iree announced the sacking of all its part-time lecturers, Federal Polytechnic Ede has Also disengaged its all it ad-hoc staff.

The disengagement according to the school management was to give room for re-organization of ad-hoc/locum staff cadres and to properly identify those on the payroll of the Polytechnic.

This was contained in an internal memo dated January 17 signed by Deputy Registrar (Junior Staff Establishment Affairs), Mrs. I.O. Fatolu on behalf of the school’s registrar.

Falolu noted that all the affected ad-hoc/locum staff can reapply for their appointment if they are still interested in their position.

The internal memo reads “The Rector, Engr. Dr. Man Yahaya Sani has directed that all Ad-hoc/LOCUM Staff of the Polytechnic should reapply for their appointment if they are still interested in their position.

“This directive is as a result of the Management intention to re- organise the category of Ad-hoc/LOCUM staff on the payroll of the Polytechnic. Such application must be forwarded to the office of the Registrar of the Polytechnic on or before Friday 24th January, 2025.

“The application should be through the Staff respective Heads of Department who are expected to make appropriate recommendation on the suitability of the Ad- hoc/LOCUM Staff or otherwise.

“By copy of this memo Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Heads of Units are hereby informed of this decision and directed to make appropriate recommendation on the concerned Staff application under confidential cover.

“The applications are therefore to be forwarded to the Registrar through the Head of Departments not later than Friday 24th January, 2025.

“The foregoing is for the information and urgent compliance of all involved.

“Thank you.”
