Even In Death, You Remain Man Of Peace, Apostle Of Politics Without Bitterness – Afolabi Celebrates Adeleke’s Posthumous 70th Birthday
Even in death, you remain a man of peace, apostle of politics without bitterness. A lover of the grassroots people. A stylish, consummate, and accomplished statesman of no mean order.” These are the words of Hon. Lukman Afolabi in celebrating the posthumous 70th birthday of late Senator Adetunji Isiaka Adeleke.
In a statement personally signed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Ede South Local Government, on Wednesday, he said, “During the lifetime of the state’s first executive governor, he applied his God-given resources impactfully for the benefit of a greater number of Nigerians.”
Afolabi, who disclosed that the late Asiwaju of Edeland was his political father, mentor, and benefactor, noted that the late Adeleke remains a political jewel of inestimable value and a golden fish with no hiding place.
The statement reads, in part: “Today, January 15, should be your 70th birthday, but painfully, you’re no longer with us. While you were here, you were my political father, mentor, and benefactor, from whom I learned a lot of things. Even in death, you remain a man of peace and apostle of politics without bitterness. A lover of the grassroots people. A stylish, consummate, and accomplished statesman of no mean order.”
“We are forging ahead in upholding your principles of service to humanity and grassroots politicking. As we celebrate your posthumous birthday, we remember his unwavering dedication to public service, his visionary leadership, and his unshakeable optimism.”
“Your life serves as a testament to the power of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. As we honor your memory, we are reminded of the importance of leadership, integrity, and community service.”
“Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s political adventure was a departure from what obtains today among power-wielders, who are obsessed with it for their personal selfish interest. Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, in his 70 years of sojourn on earth, expanded the coast of visionary leadership, which enabled his political influence to be felt in Osun State and beyond the shores of Nigeria.”
“His political structure is enduring and superbly intact. May Senator Adetunji Isiaka Adeleke’s legacy continue to inspire future generations of leaders and citizens to strive for excellence and to make a positive difference in the world.”
