LG Polls: Afolabi Unveils Plans To Reduce Poverty Among Women In Ede South
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming February 22 election for Ede South Local Government Area of Osun state, Hon. Lukman Afolabi Abere Soose, has unveiled plans for women empowerment.
Afolabi on Thursday made his plans known to support women in their respective businesses during his campaign at Jagunjagun Ward 3 of the local government.
Addressing his supporters, Afolabi who emphasized the importance of women in economic growth pledged to prioritize empowerment and support for small-scale business owners in order to reduce poverty and improve their standard of living.
He outlined a quarterly program with a clear blueprint to benefit everyone in the local area. “By creating more jobs and series of empowerment programs, we can reduce waywardness and increase the standard of living for our women,” Afolabi said.
He highlighted Governor Ademola Adeleke’s achievements across various sectors in his two years in office and urged his supporters to continue to pray for the administration of the governor.
He expressed gratitude to party leaders and stakeholders across all boards for their dedication for PDP to come out victorious come February 22, 2025.
Also, a former chairman of the local council, Elder Sunday Akanfe, in his address stressed that the governor’s second term is sacrosanct to continue the good work Osun is experiencing under his leadership.

He enjoined PDP members to keep enlightening residents of the council and explain to them why they need to keep hope for a better life under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Lawmaker representing Ede South State Constituency, Bar Taofik Olayiwola, dismissed main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) grandstanding.
According to the lawmaker, “The APC is known for making empty promises, but we will not be swayed, PDP is winning this election and the next governorship election.”

The campaign event was a resounding success, with Afolabi’s message of hope and empowerment resonating with the people of Jagunjagun Ward 3.
