LG Polls: Ede South PDP Candidate, Afolabi Promises More Jobs Opportunity, Empowerment

The chairmanship candidate of Ede South local government of Osun state of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming election, Hon Lukman Afolabi has promised to create more jobs and empowerment opportunity for the citizens of the local government if he elected in the February 22 local government poll.

Afolabi, who made the pledge on Thursday during his campaign at Alajue 1 Ward 4 Area, said creation of more jobs is paramount in his administration’s agenda if he succeeded in securing success at the poll.

Addressing the crowd, Afolabi urged them to continue their support for the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke where he charged voters to use their votes to ensure continuity of good governance being enjoyed by the Asiwaju of Edeland.

“The first thing we hope to do is to create more jobs for our youths because job creation is of paramount importance to us and we are determined to create more jobs, we are going to empower our women through small-scale business if we are re-elected by the grace of God and your support saying “I have discussed with my incoming vice chairman.”

According to him, the entire people of the state have seen the roads, schools, and other public infrastructures but job creation and economic empowerment of citizens will receive adequate attention.

His words: “This government is concerned about creation of more jobs for our people. We will employ more civil servants, teachers, and other jobs that will make our people contribute positively.”

Afolabi cautioned motorists and road users to obey traffic laws, to avoid road accidents during the festival period.

He said periods like this should not be taken for granted to the extent that lives are lost while others are injured under the guise of celebration.

Nobody should call me if arrested by the traffic officers for offenses, Afolabi said.

Honourable Commission for Special Duties Dr Bashir Tokunbo who praises Afolabi for the success recorded during this year’s Ede Day also welcomes decampees from All Progressives Congress (APC) Ganiya Usman, Fatai Leyinounje, Alidu raifu, and hundred of there supporters joined the people’s democratic party.
