Open Letter To Governor Ademola Adeleke
By Olowu Emmanuel
Congratulations on your birthday Celebration and honourary Chieftaincy title, with a reminder of your electoral promises to prioritize the progress of civil servants in Osun State.
On behalf of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), I extend warm congratulations to you on the auspicious occasion of your 64th birthday celebration and your traditional title as the Asiwaju of Ede Land which you will be blessed with today 13th of May 2024.
As you celebrate your birthday and traditional honor, you are reminded of the promises made during your electoral campaigns, particularly regarding the welfare and interests of civil servants in Osun State.
We would like you to know that you are gradually deviating from your promises as the interest of the entire civil servants of the State has gradually not been prioritized in the State as you have failed to uphold the Public Service Rule 2011 which should be the guarding standard.
The status of the Head of Service (HOS) Mr. Samuel Ayanleye Aina who has spent One Hundred and Six (106) days in service and the Accountant General (AG) Mr. Rasheed Olalere Alabi who has spent fifty- Eight (58) days in service after retirement are acts that are presently setting bad precedence in the State and encouraging illegalities, which we shall not relent in challenging.
In light of these concerns, we respectfully urge you to halt all forms of service year extensions in the State and prioritize the career progression of civil servants and job creation for unemployed graduates, by ensuring that illegal extensions are ceased in the State henceforth.
As you reflect on the significance of your birthday celebration and traditional title, we implore you in the spirit of your traditional Title; the Asiwaju of Ede Land which symbolizes One Who Leads From The Front to act on our request for the sake of fairness, justice, and meritocracy.
We remain hopeful that under your leadership, the rights and interests of civil servants, and all citizens will be safeguarded and promoted.
