WIP Takes ‘Catch Them Young And Teach Them Peace’ Advocacy To Osun School
As part of efforts to reduce crime rate and other social vices among Nigerian youth, international organization, World Institute for Peace, WIP, on Monday took its ‘Catch Them Young And Teach Them Peace’ advocacy to secondary school in Osun.
The “Catch Them Young and Teach Them Peace” advocacy according to WIP, is a vital step towards creating a world where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and understanding, and where human rights and dignity are upheld for all.
Addressing students of Osogbo Grammar School, Osogbo, at the school auditorium, Executive Director of WIP in Osun,Chief Lamina Kamiludeen, said the advocacy is a crucial initiative to sow seeds of peace, security, and human rights in the hearts and minds of young Nigerians.
Kamiludeen stressed that “we believe that by equipping the students with foundational knowledge and values, this program will empower them to become agents of change as it will foster a culture of empathy, respect, and compassion in their communities and beyond.
He further explained that the advocacy which is WIP means of supporting security agencies would be taken to all schools in Osun by educating the students on approach towards finding lasting solutions to banditry and insecurity in Nigeria.
Through practical experiences and hands-on activities, the students in attendance demonstrated deep understanding of their rights and responsibilities, fostering a sense of global citizenship.
