Adeleke Joins Southwest Govs In Lagos Amid Minimum Wage Negotiations
By Hammed Tajudeen, Osogbo
Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, joined his southwest counterparts to attend a meeting amid the ongoing national new minimum wage.
The meeting, holding behind closed doors at the Lagos House in the Ikeja area of the state, which is being hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Babajide received Governor Adeleke and others, who stormed Lagos for the zonal meeting.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in company of his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hazmat, received Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun) and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
The meeting is coming amid the back and forth between the Nigerian Government and the organized labour over a new national minimum wage.
While labour is insisting on N250,000, the Nigerian government had proposed N62,000.
There are indications that labour may resume its nationwide strike from Tuesday if the Nigerian government fails to heed its demands.
