Yuletide: Afolabi felicitates with Christians on Christmas Day, Urges Them To Pray For Others The chairmanship candidate of Ede South local government area of Osun state in the forthcoming election, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, has extended warm wishes for a merry christmas to Christians on the occasion of this year's celebration. Afolabi, in his yuletide message emphasized the importance of celebrating Christmas with a focus on its spiritual values. The esrtwhile Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Osun chapter, encouraged Christian community to spread love, care and maintain a peaceful conclusion to the eventful year. He urged them to also take safety precautions during the celebration period. Afolabi ,who expressed gratitude to God for the blessing of witnessing this year's Christmas extends his thoughts to the vulnerable and essential service workers. “Christmas, a period for loving, sharing, and giving, is here again! Christmas is a celebration of peace and goodwill for all. Being an expression of spiritual value, it is essential to celebrate Christmas while upholding the spiritual foundation of Christmas itself. Say your prayers, pray for others, and fill your heart with goodness, all of which would make the celebration meaningful. "The year has been eventful; let’s wrap it up as peacefully as possible. The Executive Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, has felicitated with the Christian faithful on the occasion of the 2025 Easter celebration.

Afolabi, in a statement signed on Saturday, urged the Christian community of Ede South to use this period of Esther to pray for continuous development of Osun, just as he sought their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

The council boss noted that the Easter celebration is a pivotal event in the Christian faith that symbolizes hope, renewal, and the triumph of life over death which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He urged them to use this celebration period for spiritual reflection, renew their faith, strengthen their bond with God, and reaffirm their commitment to living according to Jesus’ teachings.
