Natasha Breaks Silence On Her 6-month Suspension From Senate

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central at the Senate, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has said her suspension for six-month from the Nigerian Senate invalidates the principles of natural justice, fairness and equity.

The Senator, who reacted through her verified Facebook page on Thursday insisted that the suspension does not withdraw her legitimacy as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Blaze Newz recalls that Natasha had challenged the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio during a plenary for relocating her seat without informing her.

Following the investigations from the Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct, cited Natasha for total violation of Senate rules and recommended her suspension for six-month starting from March 6.

Reacting to this on a post made on her social media, Natasha wrote,”Against the culture of silence, intimidation and victim-shaming; my unjust suspension from the Nigerian Senate invalidates the principles of natural justice, fairness and equity.

“The illegal suspension does not withdraw my legitimacy as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and I will continue to use my duly elected position to serve my constituents and country to the best of my ability till 2027 … and beyond” she wrote.
