Petit Berates Cristiano Ronaldo Over Reaction To Duran’s Red Card

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit has hit out at Cristiano Ronaldo for his reaction to Jhon Duran’s red card during Al Nassr’s recent 3-2 defeat to Al Ettifaq.

Recall that Ronaldo’s ego showed on the pitch when he kicked the ball in anger after Duran’s red card.

However, Petit said the 40-year-old’s reaction was embarrassing to watch on Television.

According to him, the referee could have sent the Portugal forward off too, but decided against it.

Speaking to CasinoHawks about Ronaldo, Petit said:

“You just have to look at Cristiano Ronaldo’s reaction to the referee when Jhon Duran was sent off in Saudi Arabia.

“He was complaining so much that it was even embarrassing to watch on television.

“The referee probably realised that Ronaldo was an ambassador for the division and thought to himself, I would d be taking a big risk here by sending him off too.”

He added, “He [Ronaldo] has an arrogance on the pitch with the referee, with his opponents and even his team-mates.”

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr a few years ago after his contract with Manchester United was terminated by mutual consent.
