Osun LG Polls: Amotekun Deploys Personnel Statewide To Ensure Voter Safety, Prevent Lawlessness

In a strategic move to maintain law and order during the Osun Local Government Election, personnel of the Osun Amotekun Corps were deployed across the state, including Osogbo and all other local government areas. The personnel were visibly present on the streets, actively patrolling major towns and cities to ensure the safety of voters and prevent any breakdown of law and order throughout the election period.

The deployment of Amotekun personnel aims to provide an extra layer of security, reassuring citizens of a peaceful and safe environment in which they can freely exercise their franchise. Amotekun officers were stationed at key locations, maintaining visible presence and readiness to respond swiftly to any security concerns or threats that might arise.

Speaking about the deployment, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, emphasized the Corps’ commitment to securing the safety of residents and ensuring a smooth electoral process. He assured the people of Osun that Amotekun personnel had been dispatched to every local government area to prevent any untoward incidents during and after the election.

“We want to assure every resident of Osun State that their safety is our priority. Amotekun personnel are strategically deployed across all local governments, working hand-in-hand with other security agencies to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order,” Dr. Omoyele stated. “We urge the public to remain calm and vigilant, and should they notice any security threat or suspicious activity, they should immediately notify the Amotekun Corps or other relevant authorities.”

Dr. Omoyele further stated that the Corps was working in close collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and other security agencies to guarantee a peaceful election process. He reassured the residents that the joint efforts would guarantee a secure atmosphere for the elections, which would help to foster a free and fair electoral process.

Amotekun’s presence across the state reflects the commitment of the Osun State government to ensure a peaceful and orderly election, prioritizing the security of all voters and the integrity of the local government election. The Corps remains dedicated to its core mission of safeguarding the public, ensuring that citizens can freely participate in the democratic process without fear or disruption.
