“Phase one is just coming every week to subside the hospital bill of people living with mental illness of our subjects.

“On phase two, we come to the hospital, adopt a subject and take care of all their medical bill. This is currently going on at the state hospital.

“The phase three which is one of the reasons why we provided the bed because we want to expand as much as possible because if this place is not expanded, there is no way out own vision will be expanded as well.

“As from today, they will have very comfortable bed to use, and this particular donation can serve a lot of people for many years.

“It is not just a gift but one that we will receive with the whole of our heart and on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Hospital Management Board, I want to say a big thank you to the CEO of SANDEF and to the team who have been up and doing.”

She further noted that the donated materials will impact positively in his work by making it more easier.

While giving professional education on some of the causes of mental illness, Dr Folasade she this sickness occurs due to multiple factors.

She explained that the factors can be social, economical and genetic.

The genetic factor is the most important factor while social and economic factors remain the most dangerous.

According to the doctor “Some people can have the inherited gene of mental illness and never break down because the social environment is good.

“So if you have a situation where the environment is not good and toxic, where the financial status is upside down, where the businesses are not going, invariably by inference is most likely going to increase the rate of mental illness” she added.
