Our Law Program Still On, JAMB Suspension Only Affects New Intakes – Fountain University

The management of Fountain University, Osogbo, has called on parents, students, and stakeholders of the institution to remain calm over the recent announcement of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) regarding the suspension of admission into the university’s Law Programme.

The management in a press statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Taoheed Alimi,on Friday, said the decision made by JAMB suspending FOU’s Law Program only affected new intakes for 2025/2026 academic session.

Blaze Newz recalls that Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State; Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State; Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State; Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State, Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State; Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ebonyi State; Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State are Nigerian universities affected by JAMB suspension of Law Program.

According to FOU spokesman, “Fountain University currently enjoys the full accreditation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Council of Legal Education.”

The statement reads in part ” It is essential to note that the suspension of admission by JAMB only affects new intakes for the upcoming academic session. And it does not have any impact on our current students enrolled in the Law programme.

“Our students can continue their studies without any disruption, and we are committed to providing them with the highest quality education and support. And we’re glad to announce that our first set of Law graduates will be proceeding to the Nigerian Law School later this year.

“We are proud to also announce that Fountain University has recently been selected as the first and only Nigerian University to participate in the upcoming 2025 International Dispute Week organized by Saudi Arabian Commercial Arbitration Moot, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This achievement is alluding to our institution’s commitment to excellence and our students’ exceptional abilities.
