Bida Poly Commences Stop And Check Method On Students



The Federal Polytechnic, Bida management said it has started stop and check method on students of the institution to enforce new orders.

According to a memo released on Friday from the office of the school registrar, the stop and check order will be enforced from Wednesday, 30th March 2022.

The school authorities explained that the decision was to eradicate indecent dressing among students and others.

The memo reads in full

“This is to inform the general public particularly students that Decent Conduct Committee is set to embark on compliance exercise as from Wednesday, 30th March 2022.

“During the exercise, students are required to dress decently to avoid being sent back to change.

“Stop and Check method will be used to enforce compliance.

“In a way of reminding the public, the following are the indecent conduct prohibited by the Committee:

  1. Short and Skimpy Dress such as: Body hugs, Show-me-your-chest, Spaghetti wears and dress exposing sensitive parts of the body (Laps/ Thighs, Armpits.

2 Tight Shorts and Obscene Skirts that are above the knees (except for sporting purposes) 3. Tattered/Patched Jeans and Jeans with holes (aka CRAZY JEAN)

  1. Transparent and See-Through Dresses

  2. Tight Fitting Wears; c.g. Jeans, Skirts, Hip star. Patra, Lactra, etc. that reveals body shape and

6 contour, Under-clothing (such as Singlet, Bum-shorts, Camisoles) worn publicity

  1. Unkempt appearance such as wearing of bathroom slippers to classrooms (except for medical reasons)

  2. Long and Tight Skirts which have slit in front or at the sides, which unduly reveal sensitive parts of the body as wearer moves on

  1. Wearing of T-shirts and tops with Obscene, immoral inscriptions and advertisement

  2. Wearing of Shirt without Buttons, not properly buttoned, revealing, the wearer’s chest unduly.

11 Wearing of Ear Ring by male students.

  1. Plaiting or Weaving of Hair by male students.

13 Wearing of dreadlocks by both male and female students

  1. Sagging of trousers by male students

  2. Multi-Coloured Hair (hair extension /attachment) OTHER THAN colours 1, 2 and 4

  3. Tinting of hair to colours other than black.

  4. Wearing of Eye lashes (artificial lashes),

  5. Wearing long nails (natural or artificial nails) with outrageous colours/multiple colours

  6. Wearing of Multiple Earrings, Extra Ordinary Large Earrings, Teeth Studs and Nose Rings

  7. Wearing Tattoos especially on exposed part of the body

  8. Wearing Long Bushy and Unkempt Beards, Permed and Tinted Hair,

  9. Wearing of Obscene haircuts/styles by male and female students
