Osun 2026: Clerics Urge Trust in God for Peaceful Polls

As the 2026 governorship election in Osun State draws nearer, Christian leaders in the state have called on both citizens and politicians to put their trust in God and shun practices that run contrary to His will.
The charge was made during the third annual thanksgiving service of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Mercy and Praise, Orioke Aanu, Kajola, Ede.
The programme was filled with worship activities, including prayer sessions, scriptural exhortations, renditions by church choirs, performances by guest choirs, and cultural displays by children. Intercessory prayers were also raised for peace in Osun State and Nigeria at large.
The event featured testimonies of deliverance and healing, with one woman narrating how she was miraculously cured of cancer and fibroid without undergoing surgery. She attributed her recovery to the power of prayer at the church.

He urged them to avoid violence and bloodshed, insisting that leaders must seek divine guidance before, during, and after the polls.
Delivering the sermon, Pastor Oluwatoyin Oyediran Isaac spoke on the theme “God, in Whom Our Fathers Trust.” He reminded the congregation of biblical figures such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, alongside spiritual fathers like Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola and Baba Abiye, who placed their unwavering trust in God until the very end of their lives.
Also speaking, Prophet (Dr.) George Oluwoye, founder of CAC Mountain of Peace and Mercy, cautioned politicians against taking shortcuts in their quest for power.
