Oba Olatunbosun Seeks Osun CSDP Collaboration To Fix Faulty Ikire-Ile Water Project

The Akire of Ikire-Ile Kingdom, Oba Abdulazeez Olatunbosun, has announced his readiness to partner with the Osun Community and Social Development Project (Osun CSDP) to revive a non-functional water project in his domain.

The project, Blaze Newz gathered worth over N2 million, has been faulty for over a year, with four storage tanks damaged.

According to reports, the water project, located in Ikire-Ile, Ola-Oluwa Local Government, has been non-operational due to damaged storage tanks and other issues. Oba Olatunbosun met with Osun CSDP staff to discuss repairs and revitalization.

The monarch commended the former Osun State House of Assembly member, Hon. Akinloye Ajibola, for releasing the counterpart fund of N207,964.00 for the project when it was provided.

However, the monarch noted that the faulty borehole has negatively impacted some areas where the taps are extended.

Oba Olatunbosun estimated that the repairs would cost N1.75 million, which would cover replacing the plate and four storage tanks, each with a capacity of 3,000 liters. He also requested that the government agency reconstitute the committee in charge of maintenance and forward the new committee members’ list to the agency.

The Akire’s efforts aim to promote ownership, maintenance, and sustainability of the water project. This initiative seeks to ensure that his subjects have access to potable water, addressing the community’s needs.
