Ondo SSA On Student Affairs Powers Landmark CNG Conversion Centre At Rufus Giwa Polytechnic

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), Southwest Zone, is proud to announce the establishment of a state-of-the-art Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Conversion Centre at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State.
This groundbreaking initiative is powered by the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Student Affairs, Hon. Kevin Solomon Olaolu (KSO), whose visionary leadership continues to redefine student-focused development in the state. The project, led by NAPS Southwest Coordinator Comr. Obasanya Monday Johnson (MLEX), represents a major leap forward in technical innovation, sustainable energy adoption, and student empowerment which aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and serves as a practical model for integrating green energy solutions into tertiary education.
In Comr. Obasanya’s words, “Hon. Kevin Solomon Olaolu has demonstrated exceptional foresight and capacity in driving this initiative. His commitment to student welfare and technical advancement is both inspiring and transformative,”.
The CNG Conversion Centre; a model for technical excellence is designed to provide students with hands-on training in automotive gas technology, equipping them with practical skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurial potential. The Centre is scheduled for completion and commissioning next month and is expected to serve as a model for similar projects across the Southwest and beyond.
NAPS Southwest Zone extends its profound appreciation to the Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, for their collaborative spirit and support, and to the Students’ Union Government (SUG) President, Comr. Shane Thompson, for his grassroots leadership and mobilization efforts. This initiative underscores the commitment of NAPS Southwest to ensuring that Polytechnic students graduate with both academic credentials and industry-relevant skills, while contributing to the broader goals of technical education reform in Nigeria.
