Osun LG Crisis: Use Your Symbols Of Unity, Wisdom, Integrity To Seek Tinubu’s Intervention – Osun Pathfinder Team Urges Council Of Obas

A prominent socio-political organization, the Osun Pathfinder Team, OPT, has called on the state Council of traditional rulers led by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, to lend it voice by appealing to President Bola Tinubu to end local government crisis in the state.
The group in a statement jointly signed by its board of trustee chairman and state coordinator, Hon. Lukman Afolabi and Hon. Diti Aluko, on Saturday expressed concern over the inability of a fully functional government at the local government level.

OPT noted that as custodians of Yoruba rich cultural heritage and symbols of unity, wisdom, and integrity, believed that collective intervention of the Royal fathers can bring about a peaceful resolution to this crisis.
The group statement reads, “The Osun Pathfinder Team (OPT) respectfully request that Your Royal Majesties use your esteemed positions to seek a lasting solution in collaboration with President Bola Tinubu’s administration on lingering crisis of local government administration of the state.

“Given your wise counsel and respected positions, we believe you’re uniquely positioned to broker peace and facilitate dialogue among stakeholders.
“Your intervention could help calm tensions, address grievances, and guide stakeholders towards a mutually beneficial solution prioritizing the welfare and development of Osun State and its people.
“We are concerned that legally elected local government officials under the platform of PDP backed by June 13 Akure Appeal Court judgement are facing challenges caused by the rascality of opposition party, APC, Yes/No chairmen and other external forces.
“The withheld of the 30 local governments allocation of the state by the federal government for over three months has impacted negatively and slowed down developmental agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke led government.

“We are sad to state that our royal fathers’ welfare is also affected with the ugly development of the seizure of Local government allocations.
We ,therefore, call on the chairman of the Council of traditional rulers of Osun, Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to use his office by appealing to President Bola Tinubu to wade in by putting to rest issue of local governmet of the state.
Owa of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Haastrup, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRosheed Akanbi, Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama and other respective royal fathers should save our state from being consumed by unpatriotic forces who find joy in ensuring that our state does not compete with comity of developed states in Nigeria.
“We thank Governor Ademola Adeleke for ensuring that the local government crisis does not throw the state in chaos by breaching public peace” the statement concluded.
