A’Court Verdict: Accept Your Fate, Stop Misinforming People Of Osun – ALGON Tells APC, Yes/No Chairmen

• Lauds A’Court for resisting cunning approach of Osun APC
The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Osun chapter under the leadership of Hon Sarafadeen Awotunde, has expressed satisfaction with the June 13 Akure Court of Appeal judgement which dismissed the All Progressives Congress, APC, application.

The Osun ALGON boss stressed that the court of Appeal verdict has put to rest issues surrounding local government election in the state just as it urged Yes/No chairmen and Osun APC to accept their fate.
According to Awotunde in a statement released on Friday and made available to newsmen in Osogbo the Appeal Court further affirmed the null and void of the October 15, 2022, local government election conducted under former Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration.

The Osun ALGON boss congratulated residents of the state that the rule of law prevailed despite the main opposition party and its co-travelers’ move to destabilize government at the local level.
He further noted that the mandate given to all local government chairmen and councilors on February 22, 2025, across the 30 councils of the state by the good people of the state remains intact and recognized in the eye of the law.
“Even the Court of Appeal resisted the cunning approach that the Osun APC has been using to deceive people of the state with misinterpretation of the court verdict.
“The sudden attempt to resurrect this appeal through this same court will only lead to confusion and this Court will resist such attempt to lure it to unwittingly seat on Appeal in CA/AK/270/2022,” Justice Peter Obiorah lead judgement said.
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate the good people of Osun that their mandate given to all chairmen and councilors across the 30 local government councils remains intact and recognized in the eyes of the law.

“The June 13 Akure Court of Appeal judgement has further confirmed the ruling on the null and void of the October 15 local government election conducted under the administration of former governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
“I call on the Yes/No chairmen, Osun APC, and their supporters to accept their fate by respecting the rule of law.
“I equally want to congratulate His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for his peaceful approach in the face of aggressors who are head-bent on throwing the state into anarchy.
“Our party leadership under Hon Sunday Bisi is also appropriated for believing in the rule of law rather than selfhelp.
“We can not continue to lose lives and properties in our state over the control of local governments, Appeal Court has spoken,” the statement said.
