Yuletide: Afolabi felicitates with Christians on Christmas Day, Urges Them To Pray For Others The chairmanship candidate of Ede South local government area of Osun state in the forthcoming election, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, has extended warm wishes for a merry christmas to Christians on the occasion of this year's celebration. Afolabi, in his yuletide message emphasized the importance of celebrating Christmas with a focus on its spiritual values. The esrtwhile Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Osun chapter, encouraged Christian community to spread love, care and maintain a peaceful conclusion to the eventful year. He urged them to also take safety precautions during the celebration period. Afolabi ,who expressed gratitude to God for the blessing of witnessing this year's Christmas extends his thoughts to the vulnerable and essential service workers. “Christmas, a period for loving, sharing, and giving, is here again! Christmas is a celebration of peace and goodwill for all. Being an expression of spiritual value, it is essential to celebrate Christmas while upholding the spiritual foundation of Christmas itself. Say your prayers, pray for others, and fill your heart with goodness, all of which would make the celebration meaningful. "The year has been eventful; let’s wrap it up as peacefully as possible. Take necessary security precautions, ensure good neighborliness, and avoid drinking and driving. "On behalf of my family, I wish you a very beautiful and Merry Christmas celebration. May we all witness this celebration in the coming years, God willing. While we are merry, please show love, kindness, and care to others in the community." Ede South Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, has called on his constituents to work together towards nation-building.

The council boss made the call in a statement issued on Thursday through his office media unit on the occasion of the June 12 Democracy Day celebration.

Afolabi emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in driving progress, stating, “As we celebrate our independence, let us remember that our strength lies in our unity and collective effort towards a better tomorrow.

“With collective effort and determination, we can achieve great things and build a prosperous future for ourselves and future generations.”

He assured residents of the council area that their voices would be heard and their suggestions considered in future development plans.

The chairman highlighted the importance of numerous projects executed for the benefit of his constituents, stating, “Our local government area has seen tremendous growth, and we will continue to work tirelessly to improve the lives of our people.”

Afolabi expressed appreciation for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s support and vision for Osun State. He noted that the governor’s leadership has positively impacted Ede South, citing various development projects initiated during his tenure.

“As Nigeria celebrates its independence, we look forward to a brighter future for Ede South. With collective effort and determination, we can achieve great things and build a prosperous future for ourselves and future generations.”
