Development Economist , Akinjeji Lauds Gov Aiyedatiwa Over Appointment Of Hon Poroye

• Calls for reengineering of OSOPADEC

Akinjeji Adeola has thanked Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa over the appointment of Hon. Biyi Poroye as chairman of Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

Adeola in his appreciation message to the Ondo Governor on Saturday made available to newsmen said the timely appointment is a testament to the governor’s discerning leadership and deep commitment to inclusive development in the mandate areas.

He described Hon. Poroye is a leader defined by his uncommon team spirit, emotional intelligence, and a firm dedication to shared goals.

“His track record is one of collaboration, humility, and the pursuit of collective progress over personal ambition.

While tasking the new OSOPADEC boss to start displaying his leadership competence at the commission, Akinjeji said ,’It is time to depart from the traditional, project-by-project approach that lacks strategic direction.

“Rather, OSOPADEC should operate based on a well-crafted Development Plan—a living document that articulates long-term goals, aligns with state and national frameworks, and incorporates community needs, sustainability, and measurable impact, in line with best practices all over the world.

“This kind of institutional transformation will empower OSOPADEC to work in collaboration with both local and international development partners (SDGs 17) to delivers more than isolated interventions, it will foster systemic change, infrastructure that lasts, and economic opportunities that truly uplift the oil-producing communities of Ondo State.
