Breaking: Osun LG Crisis: Appeal Court Reserves Judgment As APC Seeks Relisting

The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo State, has adjourned its ruling on the application brought by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to relist the Appeal involving the sacked chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after hearing arguments from both the APC, OSSIEC and Action People’s Party (APP) legal representatives.
The sacked chairmen had earlier approached the Appeal Court seeking to relist the case that was previously dismissed by the same court for want of diligent prosecution on the part of the APC.
The appellants are requesting the court to reinstate the matter for proper hearing and determination.

The panel, after hearing submissions from both sides, reserved judgment and announced an adjournment to a date yet to be disclosed.

In the submission of the OSSIEC counsel, Musibau Adetunbi, SAN, called the attention of the court to the fact that the court is bound to take judicial notice of its first judgement earlier delivered in January 2025 dismissing the appeal of the applicant
He further argued that Counsel to APC cannot rightly claim that he was incommunicado with his client.
He noted that there are further evidences as filed in marked exhibits before the court, on other cases where the same counsel, Muhydeen Adeoye (a.k.a Galadima) was filing briefs for his client in the same court, which showed that they were actually communicating. Therefore, there is no basis to claim that he lost communication with his client.

Recall that in February this year, the sacked APC Yes or No chairmen in Osun State violently took over local government secretariats across the state with the backing of security agents, an action which was widely criticized as illegal and violation of due process.
