Workers’ Day: Your Dedication For A Better Osun Appreciated – ALGON Hails LG Workers

The Osun chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has lauded workers across the 30 councils including area council for their endless dedication towards a better state.
The Osun ALGON made this known in a statement on Thursday signed by its Chairman, Secretary, and Publicity Secretary, Hon. Sarafadeen Awotunde, Hon.Lukman Afolabi, and Dada Ajibola, to commemorate the 2025 Workers Day.
The Osun ALGON assured the workers that it would not compromise their well-being and safety amidst the ongoing local government crisis.

The statement noted that Osun workers tireless efforts and invaluable contributions across every industry and profession are the driving force behind the unexpected economic growth and development.
The statement reads in part, “As we pay tribute to workers, we also acknowledge the role of trade unions and labor organizations in advocating for workers’ rights.
“These organizations have been instrumental in pushing for better working conditions, fair wages, and social protection for workers, often in the face of significant challenges.
“The celebration of Workers’ Day is not just about recognizing the past achievements of workers but also about looking towards the future.

“It’s an opportunity to reflect on the changing nature of work and the need for policies and practices that support workers in the face of technological advancements, globalization, and other shifts in the labor market.
“As we pay tribute to workers on this special day, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting workers’ welfare and rights. We recognize that a fair and equitable society is built on the principles of justice, equality, and dignity for all workers.”
Osun ALGON, however, sought continuous working relationships with workers, saying, “Let’s continue to work together to create a world where every worker is treated with respect and dignity.”
