Kwara APC: A Troop of Monkeys Without Coordination,By Arc. Ayuba Musbau Kawu

I came across a picture sometime ago where a troop of monkeys seized a car in a forest. From the picture, one could easily deduce that someone, probably a tourist, took the car there to have good scene of the nature. Unknown to the troop, the fees provided by the tourists, including the one they seized their car, are being used to cater for their well being including security to keep them from being haunted down and becoming extinct. This act is capable of scaring other prospective tourists away from visiting the the forest and the troop will eventually suffer in the end, unknown to them.

This is exactly what is correctly happening in Kwara State today. Like troop of monkeys, Kwara State current Government rose on the back of Otoge movement in 2019 unprepared and without coordination. Today, they have made worse of everything handed over to them. Not only that, they have resulted to fighting themselves: from battles with APC loyalists, confrontations with Mal. Saliu Mustapha, disputes with senators, representatives, and assembly members. In each of these conflicts, one name remains constant – Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, a supposed leader who does not have what it takes to lead and a figure who has demonstrated time and again his inability to unite even those within his own political camp.

Unfortunately, one mediocre, Ibraheem Abdullateef (Egghead), a member of APC, left the uncoordinated troop of monkeys he’s part of and spewed his gibberish, tittled “Opposition general without troops”, on the leadership role Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, the leader of PDP in Kwara State, played on the recent happening on national political development to call for calm and focus from PDP members across Nigeria, not only in Kwara State. This call was not only timely, it’s reassuring and stands in stark contrast to the chaotic management style of the current APC administration in Kwara State.

Dr. Saraki, a conscious talker who doesn’t waste his words, had previously been accused by this uncoordinated troop of monkeys of liaising and romancing with the ruling party. However, now that he spoke when it matters most, the uncoordinated troop are trooping out to attack him. This troop of monkeys in Kwara State appears incapable of recognizing how their actions undermine the very mandate they were given to govern. This contradictory behavior reveals not a principled ruling party as one would have expected but opportunistic criticism devoid of coherent political philosophy.

The people of Kwara have taken notice. The overwhelming victory of the PDP in the 2024 Local Government elections where voting was permitted speaks volumes about public sentiment. Citizens have witnessed firsthand the directionless nature of the current administration and are eager for 2027 to arrive, when they can install leadership capable of providing the focus and coordination Kwara State so desperately needs.

What we’re witnessing is not merely political infighting but a fundamental failure of governance. An administration that cannot maintain unity within its own ranks cannot possibly unite a diverse state toward common development goals. The constant internal strife diverts attention and resources from the pressing needs of Kwarans – infrastructure development, economic growth, educational advancement, and healthcare improvement.

As 2027 approaches, the contrast becomes increasingly clear. On one side stands an administration characterized by internal division and reactionary politics; on the other, an opposition offering coherent leadership and a unified vision. The choice facing Kwarans will not merely be between political parties but between chaos and order, between directionless conflict and purposeful governance.

The citizens of Kwara deserve leadership that understands that political power is not an end in itself but a means to improve lives and develop communities. They deserve representatives who recognize that political stability is a prerequisite for sustainable development. Most importantly, they deserve leaders who can look beyond short-term political advantage to the long-term welfare of the state.

The metaphorical monkeys in the forest will eventually suffer from their shortsighted actions. Similarly, the current administration’s inability to provide cohesive leadership will ultimately prove its undoing. Kwarans are ready for change – not the hollow promises of 2019, but genuine, competent governance focused on tangible results rather than internal power struggles from uncoordinated troop of monkeys in APC.
