FG Appoints Ede Born Dr Wakeel Lawal Ag. Medical Director Of NOHIL

Following the demise of the Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, the Federal Government has appointed Dr. Wakeel Lawal as the Acting Medical Director of the institution.
Blaze Newz gathered that Dr Lawal hails from Agboja Compound in Ede,Osun state
According to a press statement signed by the Information & Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Mrs Ayo Adenike, his appointments has been effective from Tuesday 15th April 2025.

Lawal is a senior and experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in trauma and arthroplasty at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos and actively involved in research and professional development.

Until his new appointment, Dr. Lawal served as the Head of Clinical Services of the Hospital. He is an Orthopaedic / Trauma Surgeon and also the Head of Arthroplasty at NOHIL. He has a Fellowship in Arthroplasty from India, attended the A-Z Knee and Hip Replacement Course in Dubai, the ATLS Course in India, and the Complex Primary Knee Symposium in India. He also has a SICOT fellowship in Arthroplasty (Lagos 2019).
He is involved in research, with publications on topics such as total hip arthroplasty in sickle cell disease patients and blood loss in total hip and knee arthroplasty.
