PDP,APC React To CBN Letter On Rejected Request To Open Account For Osun LGs

The Osun chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has berated the purpoted reinstated chairmen and councillors of the All Progressives Congress,APC, after the recent Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN, leaked letter.
Blaze Newz gathered that the purported reinstated APC council officials had written the CBN on opening of accounts for the state 30 local governments.
But the CBN in his response rejected their request and directed them to present further documents on the February 10th 2025 Akure Court of Appeal judgement which they claimed reinstated them.
In a statement signed by the Osun PDP
Director of Media, Hon Oladele Bamiji (HOB), on Monday noted that “in the eyes of the law, those who paraded themselves as reinstated local government chairmen are impersonators, as the yes-or-no”

Osun PDP further noted that ” The illegal issuance of state-of-origin certificates and the collection of market levies and taxes by these impostors, under whatever guise, is not only criminal but a gross insult to the sovereignty of the people and the constitutional order.”
The party, therefore, urged security agencies to take note of the illegal activities and bring the perpetrators to book.
“This administration will not fold its arms while a few desperate men attempt to destabilize our communities for selfish gain” Osun PDP said.
Osun APC in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information Mogaji Kola Olabisi, said the apex bank requested that we should avail them “with the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Judgement of the appellate Court dated February 10th, 2025,” to enable them review the request of our reinstated chairmen and respond appropriately.
This simple administrative request for clarity is what some nattering nitwits are celebrating on social media as though our request has been turned down.
The opposition party further disclosed that they party is aware the officials of the state government allegedly bribed and compromised some amenable officers of the CBN with hefty money allegedly drawn from the state coffers.
The statement reads in part ” the apex bank requested that we should avail them “with the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Judgement of the appellate Court dated February 10th, 2025,” to enable them review the request of our reinstated chairmen and respond appropriately.
“This simple administrative request for clarity is what some nattering nitwits are celebrating on social media as though our request has been turned down.

“We are aware of the desperation of the officials of the state government to (like they did to some judges and judiciary workers in Osun State) bribe and compromise some amenable officers of the CBN with hefty money drawn from the state coffers.
“We are however, delighted that the leadership of the bank have been truly professional and patriotic by blocking the shenanigans and rejecting the pressure of the state officials to destroy the corporate image of the bank with filthy personal and pecuniary gains.
“That the state government would believe that the Central Bank of Nigeria would oppose the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Attorney-General of the Federation on the interpretation of the Court of Appeal of February 10, 2025, is the height of self-deceit of the Ademola Adeleke-led government.

“It would be recalled that the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr Lateef Fagbemi, after perusing the Certified True Copy of the Court of Appeal judgement we submitted to his office, had counselled the state Governor Ademola Adeleke that the Court of Appeal on February 10 truly reinstated the local government executives elected under the banner of our party, advising the governor further not to embark on any fresh elections as there were no vacancies that would require such.”
