LG Crisis: Osun NULGE Suspends Five Members Infinite Over Unauthorized Call For Workers’ Resumption

The Osun chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has suspended five of its members who allegedly called for the resumption of local government workers across the 30 council areas despite ongoing security concerns.
The announcement of the suspension was contained in a statement released by the union on Wednesday immediately after its emergency meeting held in Osogbo.
The suspended individuals are: Tirimisiyu Adekunle Adedayo of Egbedore Local Government, Akinkunmi Adepoju of Ori Ade Local Government, Iyiola Bamidele of Ilesa East Local Government, Kehinde Babalola of Obokun Local Government and Ayeni Ojo Johnson of Ilesa West Local Government.

Blaze Newz recalls that last week Association of Concerned Local Government Workers moved to overturn Osun NULGE directive by instructing council workers to resume back to work.
Chairman of the Osun NULGE, Dr. Nathaniel Ogungbangbe in the statement stated that the suspension of the five members was declared today (Wednesday ) at an emergency state Executive council Meeting comprising branch Chairmen and State Administrative council Members.
Ogungbangbe further confirmed that the respective local governments and the Local Government Service Commission will be officially informed of the suspensions.

He reiterated the union’s commitment to ensuring the safety of local government workers before considering any resumption and warned against unauthorized actions that could compromise their well-being.
He, however, dismissed the group calling itself the Association of Concerned Local Government Workers, clarifying that they are not recognized members of the union
