Ramadan 2025: Ede South Chair, Afolabi Felicitates Muslims, Urges Them To Imbibe Sacrifice, Empathy For Less Privileged

The Executive Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Alh Hon Lukman Afolabi Abere Soose has felicitated the Muslim Ummah in his council area as they commence the 2025 holy month of Ramadan.
Afolabi urged them to use the occasion of the holy month to imbibe into their lives the teachings and tenets of the holy prophet, the Holy Quran’s guidance. and obey the primary instructions of Ramadan to make life better.
In a statement made available to the public through his media unit on Saturday, the Ede South council chairman emphasized the need for Muslim Ummah to obey the primary instructions of Ramadan to make Nigeria a safer and better place.

He appealed to the Muslim faithankful to make the best use of the special month to earn multiple rewards by extending good wishes to all, giving more alms to the poor, increasing support for one another in good deeds, and observing all the ethics of fasting, including more recitation of the Qur’an which was revealed in the same month.
The statement reads in part, “Ramadan teaches us to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less privileged, thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat). It also helps instill compassion for the poor.
“May I, therefore, use this great occasion to urge you all to practice the way of the Holy Prophet and the Holy Quran and obey the primary teachings of Ramadan to make Nigeria a safer and better place.

“I congratulate my fellow Muslims in Ede South, Osun State, Nigeria, and across the world for witnessing this year’s Ramadan.
“We must endeavor to increase our acts of kindness and generosity by showing love and extending hands of support to the poor and the needy, as it was the usual practice of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“I pray that Almighty Allah grant us the grace and good health to witness the end of this fasting period and to witness many more.”
