Osun LG Polls: IGP Commends Police For Peaceful Efforts

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG, in charge of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Ari Muhammed Ali, has commended the personnel of the Osun State Police Command for the dedication and professionalism displayed during the just concluded local government elections in the state.
According to a statement by the Osun Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday, DIG Ali made this known while visiting the Command on Tuesday, to assess the security situation following the recently conducted local government elections.
Representing the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, Ali’s visit aimed to supervise and gain a firsthand understanding of the state’s security atmosphere.
The statement revealed that Ali expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the officers and men on duty, acknowledging their commitment to maintaining peace and order throughout the election period.

He commended the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, Mohammed Umar Abba, for ensuring a secure and peaceful environment during and after the elections.
“On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, I want to thank you for supporting the nation and the Police force. The IGP appreciates the dedication and professionalism displayed by the officers,” he said.
Ali also recognised the sacrifices made by the officers in safeguarding lives and property, particularly during the sensitive period of the local government elections.
The visit included an inspection of police facilities and interactions with personnel, where DIG Ali encouraged them to remain steadfast in their duty to protect the public.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration between the police and local communities, urging officers to continue building trust and promoting peace in the state.
Ali also assured of the Force Headquarters’ continued support to enhance security operations in the state.
