The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State convened on Sunday, 23 February 2025, to assess the recently concluded local government elections in the state. The meeting focused on evaluating the conduct, outcome, and administration of the electoral process.
Following a comprehensive review, IPAC reached a collective decision on the elections. The council stated that it would announce its official position soon through a world press conference.
Pastor Victor Akande, the Osun State IPAC Chairman, confirmed the council’s intention to address the public. “Our official position on the election will be made known to the public through a world press conference soon,” he said.
He acknowledged the contributions of all participants in the electoral process. “We appreciate the participation of all stakeholders in the electoral process and remain committed to strengthening democracy in Osun State,” Akande added.
The local government elections have drawn attention across the state, with various political parties and observers keen on IPAC’s assessment and subsequent declaration.
IPAC’s upcoming announcement is expected to provide insights into the council’s evaluation of the elections and any recommendations for future improvements.
The council reaffirmed its dedication to promoting transparent and fair electoral processes in Osun State, emphasising its role in safeguarding democratic values.
