Osun LG Polls : OSSIEC Boss, Abioye Alleges Police Of Arresting Officials

The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Hashim Abioye, has revealed why election materials couldn’t arrive early at some polling units across the state.
Abioye said it was due to police arrest of the officials conveying the materials to their destination.
The OSSIEC boss further explained that units where material didn’t arrive early, was due to Police arrest of the officials conveying the materials adding that new materials have been deployed and voting is now ongoing.

Commending the electorate for coming out to exercise their right, Abioye appealed to the media community for the inability of the commission to provide accreditation materials, stating that it was because the Police had sealed off OSSIEC head office where the material were kept.
Blaze Newz gathered from a resident of Ilesa at around 1:00 pm that election materials deployed to the town were confiscated by policemen.
He told Blaze Newz that the OSSIEC has promised to send new ones while they are waiting.
