Ogun Police Command Moves To Promote Trust, Collaboration With Public

The Ogun State Police Command has began a community engagement initiative aimed at strengthening relationships between the police and members of the public.
The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, on Thursday in Abeokuta visited areas such as Panseke, NNPC, Sapon, Iyana Mortuary, Computer Market and Lafenwa Market, where he engaged directly with traders, artisans, union members, market women and residents.
During the interaction, the people voiced their concerns about various issues including ritual killings, land grabbing, drug abuse, cultism, and vandalism by scavengers.
Responding to them, Ogunlowo assured of renewed efforts in tackling crime and emphasized the Police Force’s commitment to professionalism and fairneCom’tte Reels Out Successes As Timi Of Ede Celebrates 70th Birthdayss.
On concerns raised by youths regarding police profiling, the commissioner pledged that the Command will take necessary steps to improve officers’ engagement with the public while upholding security standards.
Ogunlowo maintained that the initiative seeks to create an atmosphere where citizens can freely interact with police officers, share security concerns and contribute to policing strategies for a safer society.

He directed all Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, across the state to adopt a more people-friendly approach in their operations, so as to improve information sharing, enhance security collaboration, and eliminate stereotypes between the police and the public.
In addition to reaffirming its commitment to preserving lives, property and cultivating a cordial and respectful relationship with the locals, the commissioner urged the public to provide helpful information, and interact positively with the police in order to make the communities
