Brazilian Defender, Marcelo Retires From Football

Former Real Madrid and Brazil left back, Marcelo has announced his retirement from football.

Marcelo last played for Brazilian Serie A side Fluminense, where he started his youth and professional career.

He won the Copa Libertadores in 2023 Fluminense before leaving by mutual consent in November.

The defender played the best of his career in the Spanish LaLiga with Real Madrid where he won 25 trophies.

Congratulating Marcelo on his retired Real Madrid in its official statement issued by its President, Florentino Perez, said “Marcelo is one of the greatest left-backs in the history of Real Madrid and world football, and we have had the privilege of enjoying him for a long time.

“He is one of our greatest legends and Real Madrid is and will always be his home”.
