LG Polls : PDP Candidate, Afolabi Unveils Plans For Rural Development,Promises Inclusive Governance

• PDP receives hundreds of APC decampees

Residents of Idi-Oro, Arola, Agbokojo, and Gaga communities of Olodan ward 6 have pledged to vote en-mass for Hon.Lukman Afolabi and all other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 22 local government election.

Afolabi, who is contesting for the chairmanship office of Ede South Local Government Area, Osun state , PDP chieftans were received with funfairs on Friday when his campaign train stormed Olodan Ward 6.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, Afolabi reiterated his readiness if elected to deliver inclusive governance, prioritizes the needs of all constituents regardless of party affiliation or background.

The former Osun chapter ALGON secretary, emphasized on his vision for rural development towards ensuring that the communities experience more development and every individual has access to opportunities and resources necessary for growth and prosperity.

Receiving hundreds of decampee led by by Hon. Shittu Sheriff Olayemi from the All Progressives Congress, APC, a former Ede South council chairman, Elder Sunday Akanfe Atidade assured them of equal treatment with all PDP existing party members.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, while Hon. Olayemi expressed gratitude to PDP party leaders for their warm reception and pledged their loyalty and commitment to the party.

He emphasized on the importance of unity and solidarity, stating that the party would continue to propagate the good work of Governor Ademola Adeleke and ensure his return to office in 2026.

Also, Hon. Ayinde who spoke on Governor Adeleke’s overwhelming achievements since he took over leadership of the state in 2022 declared that there is no room for APC in Osun State.

Lawmaker representing Ede South State Constituency at the Osun State House of Assembly, Barrister Taofik Olayiwola, charged the incoming chairman to ensure that dividends of democracy under his leadership cut across rural areas of Ede South, assuring that the party would record a 100% vote at Olodan Ward 6.

“With this show of strength and unity, we are poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections” the lawmaker said.
