Nigerian youths have been counseled on the relevance of engaging in sporting activities for both physical and psychological developments.

Any negligence of physical exercise especially in the teen age could lead to poor health with untold consequences in the adult age.

This observation was made by a media expert, Chief Dr Ayodele Adeyemo while speaking at the Annual InterAthletics Comperirions of Adventist Grammar School Ede, Osun State.

Adeyemo who is the Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the school opined that participants should take the InterAthletics competitions as an avenue to develop both their psyche and physique rather than involving in gangsterism or other unimaginable antisocial engagements.

He urged youths to utilize their time on productive and mind building ventures.

Chief Adeyemo also used the occasion to call on Osun State government to partner with stakeholders on youth matters in designing and embarking youth programs that can put a stop to unsalutary behaviour of street begging by the youths (popularly dubbed Area Boys), who mindlessly constitute nuisance to their immediate environment and the public at large.
