Accolades From Federal Agencies, NGOs Affirm We’re True Agents Of Good Governance – Gov Adeleke
• Set To Receive Leadership Newspaper Governor of The Year award
Governor of Osun state , Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said that accolades received by his administration in the last two years from several federal agencies and non-governmental bodies reviewing its performance and service delivery affirmed “we are true agents of good governance.”
Adeleke disclosed this on Thursday at the Banquet Hall of Government House while receiving letter from representatives of Leadership newspaper as their Governor of The Year.
Speaking, after he has been presented the letter of his award, Governor Adeleke stressed that in the last one year, his government received several awards across the sectors.
“Aside from reputable newspapers like the leadership stable, we have received accolades from several federal agencies and non-governmental bodies” the governor said.

He added “The consensus from those reviewing our performance and service delivery is that we are true agents of good governance.”
He ,however, maintained that despite the accolades from different angles over his performance, he is not allowing the praises to enter his head saying “it may be true that I have delivered a four year task in under two years, I am propelled to do more because Osun has been left behind on many fronts.”
Earlier in his remarks, Director of Leadership Group , Abraham Nda Isaiah, who spoke on the reason behind the newspaper’s decision of picking Governor Adeleke as its Governor of The Year said they concluded after extensive research through their correspondents across the country on all programs of each state governor.

But they finally picked Governor Adeleke after exraying his peoples oriented programs and policies translating to good governance that residents of the state are enjoying.
Isaiah noted that after his team arrived in Osun from Abuja they confirmed the infrastructural development going on in the length and breadth of the state under the leadership of Governor Adeleke.
He added that over 20,000 residents of the state have benefited from the free medical outreach of the governor across the three senatorial districts in the last two years.
Also, Vice Chairman of Leadership Group, Mike Okpere, who led the team to Osun, said what they do as part of their social cooperate responsibility is to give recognition to people that improve the society economically for otherwise.

“And this all we saw and found it worthy that your governor, His Excellency be awarded as Governor of The Year” Okpere said.
The award presentation ceremony will hold on February 8 in Abuja according Okpere
Other governors to receive the same award are ; Governor of Kano State, Yusuf Abba, Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Umo Eno, Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah and Governor of Jigawa State , Umar Namadi.
