Osun LG: OSSIEC Opens Portal For Media, CSO Registration

The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC, has announced that it will open its portal for media, stakeholder and civil society organisations willing to observe the February 22 local government election.

This was contained in a press release signed by Information Officer of the commission,Sadiat Isiaka, on Wednesday, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.

The press release warned that only duly registered and accredited media, stakeholder and civil society organisations will be allowed to access facility to observe the election.

The press release reads “Ahead of the Osun Local Government election slated for February 22, 2025, every Media, Stakeholder and Civil Society Organisation willing to OBSERVE the election is hereby called upon to register through the Commission’s portal www.ossiec.org, as from Wednesday 22nd January, 2025, for ease of accreditation and for proper documentation.

“Note that ONLY duly registered and accredited Media, Stakeholder and Civil Society Organisations that satisfy the conditions stipulated by the Commission will be allowed access and facility to OBSERVE the election. Note further that this is part of the Commisison’s arrangement for stakeholders’ participation which is strictly an OBSERVATION and not a MONITORING mission.”
