Spanish Super Cup: I’m Sad – Ancelotti Singles Out One Real Madrid Player

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has singled out forward, Kylian Mbappe for praise following his side’s Spanish Super Cup final defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

Ancelotti, who was sad with Real Madrid’s 5-2 defeat to Barcelona, was impressed with Mbappe’s performance against the Catalan club.

The Italian noted that the France international scored a great goal against Hansi Flick’s side.

Mbappe gave Ancelotti’s side an early lead in the 5th minute in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star also won a penalty for the Los Blancos during the encounter.

But Barcelona bounced back with four goals from Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Alejandro Balde before half-time.

Raphinha then added a fifth goal immediately after the break.

“The game was not good from the first minute to the last. With an extra man, we were not able to find solutions.

“I’m sad about the game as a whole. I can’t take anything away from it except Mbappé’s performance, who scored a great goal in a good move.

“We have to forget about the rest and look forward,” Ancelotti said at his post-match interview.

Real Madrid will now face Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey in their next game on Thursday.
