University Of Jos Elects First Ever Female SUG President

Students of the University of Jos have elected Miss Pwajok Jane Kangyang as first ever female President of the Students Union Government (SUG)

Miss Jane, a student of Medicine and Surgery yesterday defeated her opponents with a total votes of 1682 while the runner up, Kiku Roy Magaji scored 964 votes.

Others in the race; Izam Samuel Musa got 54 votes, Francis Perembo got 118 votes and Ayuba Cholom Yakubu got 24 votes.

Blaze Newz gathered that Miss Jane victory made her to become the first ever female students to occupy the position in the 49-year history of the institution.

Her friends and colleagues, as well as students of the University have all taken to social media to celebrate with the first female leader.

One Dakak Christopher wrote “Congratulations on your historic win! FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF JOS STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT. May your reign be blissful!,”

Another wrote …“You have made history as the first female SUG president. You have done us proud. You are a fighter and a very resilient one at that. Despite all odds and the opposition, God has crowned your effort. Appreciation to all those who worked hard to make this possible.”
