Renounce Criminal Activities – Lakurawa Warns Notorious Bandit Leader, Bello Turji

Ameer Habib Tajje, leader of the newly emerged terrorist group Lakurawa, has issued a direct warning to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.
Tajje charged Turji to renounce his criminal activities.
A statement by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama said Tajje is preparing to send a powerful delegation to Turji.

According to Makama, “In a strange turn of events, Ameer Habib Tajje, the influential leader of the Lakurawa group in the northwestern region of Sokoto, is reportedly preparing to send a powerful delegation to bandit leader Bello Turji, demanding his complete renouncement of criminal activities.”
Turji, a notorious bandit leader who has been on the watchlist of Nigeria’s security agencies, has wreaked havoc in the North-West of the country with kidnapping activities and imposing levies on farmers before they can harvest their crops.
Amid Turji’s activities, Lakurawa, a new jihadist terror group, resurfaced and killed about 15 people in Kebbi in November.

Lakurawa operates around Kebbi and Sokoto states.
On November 6, 2024, Lakurawa emerged and imposed taxes and levies on communities in Sokoto State.
