2024 Ede Day: Gov Adeleke Reveals Plans To Invite Sanwo-Olu, Makinde, Oyebanji, Diri, Other

Lauds planning committee for their commitment

The Asiwaju of Edeland, Governor Ademola Adeleke, has revealed that he has started plans to invite his counterparts from different states across the country to celebrate with him 2024 Ede Day.

The governor made this known While he received the 2024 Ede Day Planning Committee at the government house, Oke-fia, on Friday.

The governors to be invited according to Governor Adeleke are, Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji and Governor of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri.

Addressing the planning committee, Governor Adeleke said “I’m so happy to see some vibrant youths mixed together. I want you all to know the fact that you are nominated to contribute to the development of Ede.

“See the position you’re occupying now as a great service, so, we’ve to have the fear of God, and let’s be doing good.”

He called on all indigenes of Ede to support all programs aimed at the development of Edeland saying ” Let’s come together and work for the progress of Ede. What we want is development and Ede’s interest should be protected.”

Speaking on the giant stride his administration has done for Ede, Governor Adeleke told his kinsmen “You will be proud anywhere you go as an indigene of Ede because your governor is doing well.

“I’m giving you go ahead and approving the date of our Ede day should be December 7th.

“We pray that our dual carriage will be ready for use before the day,” the governor said.

The very elated Planning Committee Chairman, Hon.Lukman Afolabi, in his own address, told Governor Adeleke “In the history of EDE, you have done what our forefathers could have done, you made our dream come to reality, we have been dreaming of dual carriage road but you made it possible, we thank you, your excellency.

“You are the Asiwaju of Edeland, there is nothing we can do until you give us the go ahead.. this is the reason why the central working committee is paying you a visit.

“We have members of PDP, APC, Labor Party here … we are not here because of politics but for the development of our dear hometown.”

It would be recalled that Afolabi promised that this year Ede Day will be unique in the history of the annual celebration.
