LG Polls: Hundreds Of APC Members Defect As Ede South PDP kicks Off campaign
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ede South local government area, Osun State, has kicked off its campaign for the forthcoming February 22, 2025 council election.
Addressing his supporters and party members during the kickoff at Babanla Agate, Ward 01 on Thursday, the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Lukman Afolabi Abere Soose, assured that he will be following the successful path of past chairmen of Ede South.
He urged all members of Ede South PDP to continue to promote the performing Governor saying we’re not bearing our name only, we’re bearing Adeleke’s name.
Also speaking, Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Hon Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salam emphasized the importance of accountability, transparency, and rural development.
Hundreds of members from the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, defected to the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Elder Sunday Akande Atidade, a former chairman of Ede South Local Government and Osun PDP Chieftain expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the February 22 polls and reiterated that PDP remains the people’s choice.
He also assured the defectors of an equal level playing ground as any other member of the party just as urged them to work assiduously to ensure that PDP emerges victorious in the upcoming polls.
Other speakers, Including the PDP party chairman Ede South LGA, Hon Ademola Oyebode, Hon Barr Taofeek Olayiwola Nagode, Hon Olaniran Akanfe Atidade, and some leaders in Ede South praised the governor’s leadership style.
