OSPOLY Alumni Receives Amended Constitution Assures Members On Immediate Implementation
Following the decision of the congress of Osun State Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association(OSPAA) over the review of the Constitution of the association, the constitutional review committee headed by Mr Oyetayo Oyewale Folajin has handed over the reviewed constitution to the National Executive Council for the immediate implementation.
The President of the Association, Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo who received the amended constitution lauded the efforts of the committee for a job well done over the review of the constitution in the last one year.
The National President who was represented by the Vice President Academics, Mr Lekan Adekunle appreciated the constitutional review committee for their tireless efforts by properly reviewed various controversial clauses in the Constitution to meet the immediate upliftment of the association both within and outside the country.
The President who expressed satisfaction with the handing over of the amended constitution stressed that NEC will not delay the implementation of the constitution as congress had already discussed, agreed and adopted the constitution for immediate implementation during the September 21st, 2024 extra ordinary AGM of Ospoly Alumni held in iree, Osun State Nigeria.
Speaking on the handing over of the amended constitution, the Chairman of the constitutional review committee, Mr Oyetayo Oyewale Folajin said, the committee has effected all necessary corrections and suggestions of members of the association within the two weeks ultimatum given by the congress during the last extra ordinary AGM.
According to him, the constitution which was unanimously put together by all members of the constitutional review committee, having certified the necessary discussion by the congress is now ready for the implementation as approved by the congress.
In his own reaction at NEC meeting, the immediate past President of the association, Mr Lekan Adegboye appreciated the constitutional review committee headed by Mr Oyetayo Oyewale Folajin for a job well done and advised the NEC to continue to follow the ethical and legal procedures in running the affairs of the association.
Also speaking on the implementation of the constitution, the legal adviser of the association, Barr Olaide Issac Abiodun congratulated Ospoly Alumni for a successful completion of the constitution which had caused many issues in the past.
According to Barr Abiodun, no perfect constitution in the world that does not require amendment as the occasion or time demand.
He added that, with the new constitution of Ospoly Alumni, the issue of litigation that normally occurs during transition of power must have been addressed in the constitution.
He saluted the current administration of Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo for implementing some areas of the constitution that give room for post election matters through the established committee.
He advised the NEC not to relent in following the constitution to the letter as innovations to change the world is not always easy at the beginning.
The NEC later unanimously ratified the new constitution for immediate implementation as it was unanimously adopted by all members present at the last extra ordinary AGM held on September 21st, 2024.
